Lady told me this old cast iron lamp/wall hanging came out of an old
pub that closed down and it is the very first budweiser coat of
arms...it is a nice lamp and does look very pub'ish but I can't find a
picture of the darn coat of arms anywhere. The closest I have came is a
web page that says the following;
''The Citizens brewery supplied the Austrian emperor's cellars in Bad
Ischl from1895 and received the title of courts supplier arising from
the supplies of beers to Wurttembergs King Wilhelm II. For promotion of
the beer it was allowed to use the Kings coat of arms in propagation.
In 1879 the brewery was granted an improved coat of arms of the town of
Ceske Budejovicky (Budweis) as the trademark on beer labels.''
And here's a picture of the actual lamp. Only cost 10 bucks but I am
curious if it actually has anything to do with budweiser or possibly
some other beer.
