Was out for the day yesterday and stopped in Des Moines, IA for lunch at
the Royal Mile at 210 4th St.
Nice, compact place with good food. Between us we tried the fish &
chips, grilled cheese, club sandwich, and sausage. All good. Also on
the menu but untried was pasty, sheperd's pie, and duck dishes.
They have a selection of 50-75 single malts on the wall and are trying
for more. Didn't get a copy of the list. But it is a nice spread
between the common things you find in most liquor shops and a few I
hadn't seen except talked about here.
Back in Des Moines for a meeting soon. Hotel is within walking distance
so I'm planning an impromptu tasting of a couple I haven't tried yet.
I know some of you travel and are always looking for a good place for
scotch, so here's another to add to your list.
