Wort sat for two days prior to yeast pitch

Hi,

I recently brewed a batch of Pale Ale I bought from William's online. 
When 
I have purchased liquid yeast locally the smack pack swells within a few 
hrs. as long as it is within a couple months old.  So I went ahead and 
smacked the Pale Ale liguid yeast from the William's kit and brewed.  The 
yeast pack did not swell to 1 1/2 for two days.  I noticed that there was
a 
thick mud at the top of the carboy after it sat for two days.  This muddy 
top did go to the bottom during the week after yeast was pitched. 
Specific 
gravity went to 1.02.  I just racked this beer and it has kind of a
chemical 
taste to it.  Did having it sit two days before I pitched the yeast ruin
it? 
Should I go ahead and bottle it?  Thanks for any help with this.
