"Viking" yeast

by =?ISO-8859-1?Q?H=C3=A5ken_Hveem?= <krbjhvee-antispam@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Apr 16, 2008 at 12:53 PM

I am curios if anyone knows where to get hold of a type of multi strain
S. cerevisiae.
This type of yeast was given to Keith Thomas, a brewing scientist at the
University of Sunderland by Michael Jackson who got that sample of yeast
from a traditional brewer in Voss, Norway. The Yeast was handed down by
generations of brewers, and is perhaps the oldest known type of European
ale yeast. It has different taste characteristics then "modern" S.
Cerevisiae.

I have tried to email Brewlab Ltd at University of Sunderland but no
reply to my enquiry.
