I checked out some parts of your site, but don't have enough time right
now to go completely through it. I will comment, though, that your
instructions for 'all grain' are probably not what most of us typically
use. For instance, I only know a few brewers who use a "grain bag";
most of us use a tun with one of the following filtering systems:
bazooka aka 'zapap' or 'easymasher (stainless steel mesh tubing)
false bottom (a panel on the bottom with tiny holes)
manifold (generally a network of copper tubing with tiny holes or slits)
Also, I think that there are possibly as many of us who use rectangular
ice chests instead of the round beverage cooler you describe; since you
make no mention of them as an alternative, you are implying to newbiews
that they actually need a round cooler when in all probability most of
them already have a rectangular ice chest for picnics/parties/camping
that they can VERY easily use as a mashtun, especially if they were to
use batch sparging instead of fly sparging.
I'll look over more of your site when I have time. Meanwhile, I now own
the domain name www.grow-hops.com and we (members of my Grow-Hops Yahoo
group with 1,938 members) are in the process of construction of the
site, including a HopsWiki. We've just started this week, so we have a
lot of work to do, but will eventually try to get a link added to your
site. Meanwhile, link to http://home.alltel.net/billvelek/growhops.html
Thanks.
