glycerine: USP = food grade?

by dshesnicky@[EMAIL PROTECTED] Jul 13, 2008 at 01:26 PM

Does anyone know if the USP designation is equivalent to food grade?
I've found glycerine, for freezing yeast, in a pharmacy that is
labeled
USP, has directions on it for external use and gargling but doesn't
actually say "food grade". Searching on "food grade", USP and FDA
doesn't quite make the connection of USP being food grade. Anyone
know something about this?

Don
