What to brew (parts is parts)

by Faux_Pseudo <Faux.Pseudo@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Jul 15, 2008 at 10:52 PM

I was at the LHBS today buying a very small amount of stuff for some
experimental batches when they handed me 8 pounds of liquid malt they
had left over from an order they got wrong a few hours ago and told me
"Do something with it".

It is something like 5.5 pounds of pale and 2.5 pounds of pils. So I
bought a California Ale yeast to fix their error. I figured I have
some spare hops at home I could use in the mix:

Brewers gold 7.7%
Pearl 5.7%
Galena 13.1%

Any one here have any ideas on what amounts/timings I might use to
brew something drinkable but nut spectacular?

I was thinking something like:
1/2 oz Galena @[EMAIL PROTECTED]
 60
1/2 oz Brewers Gold @[EMAIL PROTECTED]
 40
1/2 oz Brewers Gold @[EMAIL PROTECTED]
 20
1 oz Pearl @[EMAIL PROTECTED]
 5

But I haven't got any program like ProMash[0] to tell me what the
final IBU for that beer would be and if it would bee too bitter for
such light malts.

You got anything better?

[0] Working on it but havent decided if I want to install it on an XP
laptop without a working screen or install it under WINE on Linux.
