Posted this on another forum, but wanted to check it out here too.
Yesterday was bottling day. While racking to the bottling bucket
which had my primer in it I got interrupted with a semi-quasi-
emergency. I need to finish up this process quickly and head out.
Between stopping what I was doing and then starting racking again the
trub got all stirred up. I didn't have time to wait for it to settle
so I got what I could and moved on.
I prepared 4 oz. of corn sugar solution anticipating about a 4.25
gallon batch. When all was said and done I ended up with about 3.5
gallons, maybe a little more. Tasty brew's priming calculator put the
amount of sugar I should have used at 3.2 oz.
With the batch stashed away in a safe place in case of a bombing run I
now ponder: have I just ruined this whole batch? Would storing it in
a warmer/colder place help? It would be a damn shame because it
tasted great going into the bottle. My best batch so far. I guess I
will know in three weeks, but wanted the feedback anyway.
